Mari Ganesh Kumar is an accomplished researcher/scientist/engineer with a Ph.D. and M.S. degree from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His thesis focused on applied machine learning and signal processing to bio-signals, and he has published multiple papers in the domain of Speech, EEG, and Neuronal signals. Currently, he is working as a Senior Software Engineer (SSWE) in AI/ML at Google.

Mari specializes in developing machine learning solutions for speech recognition and natural language processing. His expertise includes building end-to-end ASR systems, multilingual and code-switching models, and implementing innovative solutions for complex speech recognition challenges.

Before joining Google, Mari worked as an Applied Scientist II at Amazon for over 3 years, making Alexa experience better for customers worldwide. Prior to Amazon, he worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at MTX Group and as a backend developer at Zoho Corporation. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Anna University, where he was awarded the best outgoing student medal.
